Dambana is home to a remote and indigenous community known as the Veddas who are regarded as the original inhabitants of Sri Lanka, and were originally hunter-gatherers. They still live by their ancient traditions, and are almost completely untarnished by modern society. This excursion takes you to Dambana village, which is about 2.5 hours from Kandy, so that you can learn first hand about this incredible community of people. There may not be a chance to actually go hunting with the tribe, however they will explain their innovative ways of catching food, such as rabbit, deer, and wild boar from the forests that surround the area. You will also get the chance to enjoy the small and intimate museum that has been set up to showcase the various equipment the Veddas have used to fish and hunt over the centuries. Included in your tour is lunch at a local restaurant.
